OnePlus 13 to Apple M4 Macs: List of launches scheduled for October 2024

The year 2024 is about to end. Some of the prominent smartphone brands like Apple, Google, and Samsung have already launched their 2024 flagship devices. So are we done with the smartphone launches this year? Not really. Some significant launches are yet to happen. The iQOO 13, OnePlus 13, Vivo X200 series and the M4 Macs are all scheduled to launch before this year ends. Here is a full list and all the details about all the smartphone launches that are yet to happen in the last three months of 2024.
OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will launch in China in October, as revealed by OnePlus China President Louis Lee. While an exact date remains undisclosed, the device is rumoured to feature Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, marking a leap in performance. Notably, the phone is set to offer a 120fps “Genshin Impact” gaming experience, making it appealing to gamers.
The OnePlus 13 is also expected to come with a redesigned camera island, departing from its predecessors, and could retain the 2K resolution display. One of the new features might be an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for faster and more secure unlocking.
Leaks suggest the OnePlus 13 could include 24GB of RAM, supporting AI applications and improving multitasking. The camera setup is anticipated to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor, along with an ultra-wide lens and a periscope telephoto camera, enhancing photography versatility.
Additionally, the OnePlus 13 is rumoured to include a 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging capabilities. Pricing in India is expected to be similar to the OnePlus 12, possibly starting at Rs 64,999, though official confirmation is awaited.
The Vivo X200 series is set to launch on October 14 in China, showcasing a notable design shift. The Vivo X200 will feature flat edges, similar to the Galaxy S24 series, moving away from the curved edges of its predecessor. Its front will sport a flat display with ultra-thin bezels, complemented by antenna bands along the metal frame. While the standard model will have a flat screen, rumours suggest the X200 Pro will retain a curved display.
Confirmed colours for the Vivo X200 include a blue variant with a wave-like pattern and a white model with a textured back. There are speculations of additional colour options, like Titanium and Midnight Black. At the rear, the X200 will carry forward the large circular camera module from the X100 series, featuring ZEISS lenses.
The display size remains uncertain, with earlier leaks pointing to a compact 6.3-inch screen, but recent teasers suggest it may be closer to the 6.78-inch size of the X100. This has fuelled rumours of a potential X200 Mini model in the lineup. A global release is expected later.
After its iPhone hardware launch event last month, Apple is reportedly planning another event before the year ends, potentially in October, according to sources like 9To5Mac and tech reporter Mark Gurman. Following last year’s “Scary Fast” event, this one could feature the launch of M4 Macs, including a redesigned M4 Mac mini and a new 24-inch iMac. These devices are expected to ship by early November.
Additionally, updates to the iPad lineup may also be announced, with the 11th generation iPad and 7th generation iPad Mini expected. The new iPad models could feature A16 or A18 chips, larger base storage, and a potential price increase for the iPad. The iPad Mini, last updated in 2021, might include the A18 chip and advanced Apple Intelligence features.
Lastly, the event could also introduce iOS 18.1, a major update bringing Apple Intelligence functionalities not yet available to the iPhone 16 series. This update is expected to enhance user experience with advanced AI-powered features.
Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of its 15 series for October 23. While the pricing remains unannounced, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro are expected to offer impressive features. Both models will likely sport 2K OLED micro-curved displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pro variant may come with a larger 6.74-inch screen, while the standard version could have a slightly smaller display.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, these devices are a step up from their predecessors, which used Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Camera setups could include a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50K primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra wide lens, and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX8-series periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is rumoured to feature a 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging, compared to the vanilla model’s 5,000mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting power and quick recharge times.
While iQOO does not have a date yet for the iQOO 13 launch, it’s an important one and deserves to be included in this list. iQOO is expected to refresh its flagship lineup in November 2024 with the launch of the iQOO 13, following its usual launch timeline. While the company hasn’t officially confirmed the release, a recent leak suggests that the iQOO 13 will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. This chipset is set to be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit on October 21, 2024.
According to the leak, Qualcomm will launch two variants of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4: the standard SM8750 chip, likely to power devices like the iQOO 13 and Xiaomi 15, and the performance-oriented SM8750P, which is expected to be used in high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
